Consignment terms in Culver City — anyone actually getting paid on time?

I dropped off six small floral pieces at a gallery in Culver City back in March, right when the jacarandas were about to pop. Signed a consignment agreement, 50/50 split, net 30 after sale. Two sold within the first month. It is now well past net 30 and I have gotten exactly one vague email saying "payments are processing."

I paint a lot. Probably too much, honestly. So I always have work ready to place somewhere, and consignment has felt like the easiest way to get it out of my studio and onto walls. But this is the second time in two years I've had to chase money from a gallery that seemed perfectly professional at intake.

I'm starting to wonder if I should just stick to the Beverly Hills Art Show and sell direct, even though hauling canvases and setting up a booth in the heat is its own kind of misery.

Anyone have a gallery in LA that actually pays on schedule? Or is chasing invoices just part of the deal now?
