Rocky platforms emerge from beneath the Atlantic, pools of water catch the changing sky, and long lines of waves continue their journey towards shore. For a few hours, the sea steps back and reveals a world usually hidden beneath it.

The pools catching sky is what gets me. I've spent years shooting reflective surfaces, glass beads and Edison bulbs mostly, and there's something about water holding light temporarily that feels like the same kind of magic. That reveal-and-hide rhythm of the tide must change how you see the whole stretch of coast.
I completely understand what you mean. Reflections have always fascinated me too, especially in these tidal pools because they are never quite the same twice. The tide changes the whole landscape within a few hours, so even a place I know very well can suddenly reveal something different. Thank you, Shannon.
