Where the Light Meets the Atlantic

Late afternoon on the coast, with the sun tracing a path across the Atlantic and the old fort watching from the shore.
For a few moments, even the birds seemed to follow the light.

It's beginning to feel like a Fall Sun. That quality is beginning to feel in the air.

Thank you, Mike. I think you’re right — the light is already beginning to change. There’s something softer and more golden about it now, especially late in the afternoon. Autumn is definitely on its way.

That Atlantic light at that hour has weight to it. You can see it in how the path holds on the water, bright but not blown out, still texture in the waves, the fort stays readable against it. That's the patience right there.

Thank you, Kristofer. I actually tried several different framings, but this one felt right to me — keeping the sun just at the edge while still letting the fort remain part of the scene. I’m glad you noticed the texture in the water too.

That line the light makes across the water is holding the whole frame together. The fort anchors it without competing.

Thank you, Daren. That line of light was exactly what caught my eye. I tried a few compositions, but I liked this one best because the fort was still there without taking attention away from the Atlantic and the light.
