Magical morning with the bears out on the mudflats in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. It was fascinating to watch this bear looking for clams. I positioned myself to take advantage of the backlighting and maximize the bokeh.

Hello everybody. This is one my favorite pictures I took of the Garden of the Gods. I love how beautiful and peaceful it was, and I found a good spot. It wasn't the exact area I wanted, but I was still satisfied.

Between Worlds

Working on a new series for a portfolio of graffiti style works on canvas.

There’s something special about being out before the world fully wakes up. At Sparks Lake in Oregon, the first light started to touch the mountains and the sky slowly opened into gold, amber, and soft gray. I love moments like this because they feel quiet, suspended, and impossible to repeat exactly the same way twice.
This is one of those scenes that reminds me why I keep photographing the landscape. It’s not just about what I see — it’s about what the place makes me feel. What kind of morning light stays with you the longest?

This mixed media work combines fabric with the canvas, colorful color combinations and textures give the painting a flowing harmony. The work is called In the Flow.

Threads of Her Life

(In the Style of Poe’s “The Raven”)

Once upon a midnight golden, as the colors, bright and olden,

Danced upon my canvas, bolden’d by a memory’s gentle hand—

While I painted, nearly dreaming, in the hush of lamplight gleaming,

Came a whisper, softly streaming, from a world I understand—

From the tapestry of silence, where her laughter used to land—

Threads of her life, close at hand.

Every hue recalled a story—rose and emerald, grief and glory—

Shadows weaving ancient worry, light that time could not withstand.

As I layered, brush unsteady, heart and hand not always ready,

Still her presence lingered, heady, in the shifting, painted sand—

In the ripples of remembrance, in the colors I command—

Threads of her life, close at hand.

“Mother,” called I, voice uncertain, “are you hidden in this curtain

Of the colors, of the burden, of the years that slip like sand?

Do you see me, ever yearning, for the wisdom, for the learning,

For the gentle, quiet turning of your touch, your guiding hand?

Is your spirit in these colors, in the strokes that I have planned—

Threads of your life, close at hand?”

Then the silence, softly breaking, set my weary heart to aching,

As the canvas, gently waking, shimmered with a ghostly band.

Every brushstroke, every blending, seemed a message never-ending,

Love and memory commending, from a far and distant land—

From the echo of her laughter, from the warmth of her command—

Threads of her life, close at hand.

So I paint, and still I wonder, as the midnight draws me under,

If the colors, torn asunder, might reveal what fate has planned.

Yet I know, though time may sever, memory’s thread is broken never—

In each hue, she lives forever, in the work shaped by my hand—

Hello Everyone! This is a large expressive oil painting, “Shenandoah Valley,” 48”h x 60”w, oil on canvas. I live in the western part of Virginia where the Shenandoah Mountains meet the Appalachian Mountains and it is a beautiful location to be inspired daily. This vista is along the infamous “Skyline Drive” where the mountain ridge lines seem endless as they move back in space as gorgeous waves of changing atmospheric color. To experience this setting I am reminded of the emotional impact color and the vast scale of a place can possess. I hope you enjoy this work! -Lori

Hello everyone! I’d like to introduce myself and showcase my work, which is created entirely by hand. I work in mixed media, using canvas, 3D paste, and a palette knife as my base, followed by acrylics and a protective coating. I also "paint" using gauze dipped in spackling compound or 3D paste; I love incorporating metal leaf—gold and silver—as details, and I often say that I work like a construction worker on the canvas. Some may like it and others may not, but I know that my soul and my deepest, most sincere self are present in every piece I create.

Here is my best piece for now: "Choosing the Light in times of Distress". Oil painting on canvas, 50 x 40 cm. My main interest is in existential themes and dilemmas, and I keep an eye on both my external reality and my internal world, working intuitively and following what emerges in the image. Sometimes as figurative expression and sometimes in abstract ways – whatever suits my mood and evolving intentions.

Vitral pour - cellular abstract

“Anticipation after strike” oil on canvas.

I focused on realistic highlights, texture, and the way light falls on the lips, giving them depth and making the image feel almost tangible.

There isn’t much context given by the image itself. The name might give you a few hints, but the best part comes after that, when you start making your own assumptions. From that moment, the story of these lips can become something completely personal to each viewer.

Even if Arthelper clearly doesn't think it's one of my strongest images, I still find the minimalist approach very beautiful. It reminds me of last spring. It's somewhat sad because spring is already over again, but the image also gives hope. Next year it will start again.

This vibrant artwork, painted with 50 birds to celebrate my sister’s 50th birthday, radiates the warmth of sisterly love. The central picock/peahen represents my sister herself, while each of the other birds symbolizes a member of her close family and friends. It presents a lush scene teeming with life, featuring a majestic peacock-like presence at its center, surrounded by a variety of colorful birds. The harmonious blend of greens and soft pastels creates a serene atmosphere, while delicate wisteria drapes gracefully overhead.
