Design And Patterns

Categories are wide and can include painting, mixed media, drawing, textiles, graphics, illustration, architecture or geometrics. The theme is having an arrangement of visual elements, such as shapes, lines, colors, or forms that create a harmonious and rhythmic composition. It can be tight patterns or loose and flowing, but elements of design are very strong.

Time and Design In Motion

its amazing how measuring tape can inspire a design. The circle is considered one of the most perfect geometric forms. I thought of Joni Mitchell's song "The Circle game" and the concept of time and movement. Black and white is always dramatic, simple but makes a striking point. A little abstract, Picasso and some Native American influences and bingo you have it!

I love creating painterly designs in PS. My niche market is the cabin business. I am working now on some pattern collections. All of these are inspired and/or created directly from my own photography.

Blue Eyes Of The Celestial Storm

Post image 1
Again I like to take different cultures and things that I see everyday in patterns. Native American shapes, some Picasso geometrics and bullet patterns that I've seen on the NYC subway. That spiral momentum movement and an eye looking out of this supernatural eye in the heavenly storm was coming out. The idea was from a verse in the book of Ephesians about principalities and powers in the heavens. The abstract idea of invisible forces and looking out from above was the inspiration. Not necessarily evil but energy, power and dynamics involved in how I saw this. I chose strong colors of deeper blues, black and white intermingling.

Hello group, and thank you Len for the kind words.. I took your advice and starting playing around a little more with the certain pieces. "A Push of the Wind" is this one... although I do that quite frequently when I work, stop and get a fresh perspective.. But also at times, I am also so in the nitty gritty of it that I forget to stop.. eat, sleep, and look away.. But here is one I have made two options on.. almost as f they are talking to each other.. if you pan through the paintings they makes me think.." Oh, I am really a bit angry now..." and the second says, "I wonder why?".. at least that was the vibe I got off them.. so look and enjoy if you choose... but now I have several types of things to play with and keep creating with.. all good.. maybe a large collage with one of my patterns repeated over and over again? but thanks again for the input.. let's keep chatting..
