I shot the Shenandoah just before a storm rolled through last spring and the light did exactly this, that moment right before everything goes dark and the contrast spikes. You caught it clean. The waiting is the hardest part of this work but it's also the whole point.

I like dramatic weather conditions on the mountains. Those conditions are the best recipe for the excellent photos. This one was taken minutes before rain caught me. But it was worth to soak. 😀

The weight sits in that middle band where the light's about to change. You kept the horizon low enough that the pressure builds before we ever see what's underneath it.
I have trained myself pretty well in the landscape photography. It is my favorite genre.
