Grand Canyon

When I was photographing this a person was watching and asked if i had a special filter to remove the haze? I spent the next few minutes explaining what I was seeing and how the haze made the image.

I bet that conversation was fascinating. It's funny how what looks like a problem to one person is exactly what makes the scene work for someone else. The haze creating those layers must have been incredible to witness in real time.
It was, she was very interested in what I was seeing.
I also love a good haze in my photos! and actually haze, fog, anything of the sort, makes the photo unique and that much more special because you don't always get these features! Are you from Arizona?! I'm originally from Tucson but now live in Arkansas :)
I'm from Ohio, I spend a few weeks on the road, living out of my truck and when possible staying on BLM or NF land.
This sounds like a dream! I may have to consider a similar style trip in order to explore these new lands I'm now in :)
Stunning! That haze in the background is wonderful. I agree it makes the image for sure.
Yes! Layers! Beautiful, Tom.
That moment when someone assumes the haze is a mistake and you get to explain why it's actually the whole point! I love that you took the time to walk them through what you were seeing. Those unexpected conversations with curious onlookers can turn into such great teaching moments, and it sounds like they left understanding the Grand Canyon in a totally new way.
