The winding path doing actual compositional work instead of just being there because forests have paths. That's the difference between documentation and making the forest a character.

The moss-covered stump detail really got me. I keep trying to get that kind of patient, lived-in feeling into my ceramic work, something that looks like it's been around long enough to belong somewhere, and it mostly just looks like I forgot to trim the foot. You captured that enduring-life-cycle thing without any of the trying-too-hard energy I tend to bring to it, which I appreciate more than I can say.
