Two hobbies in one....

Post image 1

So this image was created from an image on a particular bottle of that red that I like to drink. I thought the image was a striking one, and wanted to give it a try to see how it would translate onto paper. ( For reference, the frame around this image has been added by ai. )

The frame might be AI but that central composition has real weight to it. I'm curious what the original label looked like, wine labels can be gorgeous, but they're also tiny, so translating one to full scale takes some real decision-making about what to keep and what to let go. This feels balanced, like you found the gesture in it rather than just copying detail for detail's sake.

Thank you!, I no longer have the label (an excuse to buy another bottle perhaps). The image is fairly accurate to the original one, however I found the biggest challenge was the original not being on a flat surface as I was not able to remove from the bottle, which proved difficult to upscale the image onto paper

I love that you pulled inspiration from the label itself. The frame addition is interesting, it gives the whole piece a sort of vintage poster feel, like something you'd see in an old wine cellar. What medium did you use for the translation?

Thank you, this has been done with mainly graphite and charcoal
