This is my newest finished painting, a very abstract waterfall. What are your thoughts? Should I remove some of the darker shapes at the top middle making these shapes lighter blue more like the color of sky and the other light blues here? I look forward to hearing back. This is my first time posting in the Art Critique. Thank you. Mary Anne

You might have already made your decision but i like the dark areas, adds to a feeling of depth and contrast.

I think I would tone down the dark spots but it’s your work so go with your gut feelings

Thank you so much for your comments. I'm not sure what my gut feeling is especially since I've had another response from someone who liked it as it is. I'll wait a few days and maybe my gut feeling will pan out. Sometimes I paint over things ( I use slow drying acrylic paints) and if I don't like the results, I immediately wash off the newly painted areas. @ K Vleck

The chaos carries the piece as painted. It is yours of course to change but the work stands for itself. I like the hints of repetition without making the strokes any more obvious. Coloration and movement both down and across are successful as well

Thank you for your great comments, I really love them. However I need a few days to make a decision because I'm getting more thoughts from others on taking the darks out. I really love yours though. @Daniel Ceglinski
