The light on that fig is doing all the work. That soft side glow, the way it's not trying to be dramatic but just lets the shape speak. I shoot flowers on film sometimes and wait forever for exactly that kind of quiet light.

I'd say you nailed the light. That soft even glow is what I chase for hours in landscapes, waiting for the right minute before the sun drops or breaks through clouds. Food photography isn't my wheelhouse, but I know when something's lit well, and this has that clean quality where nothing's fighting for attention. The subject just sits there and exists. That's harder than it looks.

I believe that I might remove the fork and knife. They were the first things I notice. The light is good on the protein.
