Description
Genie (The First Wish) emerged from a period of sadness and the desire to exist somewhere other than the present moment. Sweeping currents of red, green, and gold converge around a solitary blue form, creating a sense of tension between reality and imagination, presence and escape.
Inspired by the universal longing to leave behind pain and begin again elsewhere, the painting explores the emotional space between acceptance and desire. While rooted in a personal experience, the work speaks to those moments when the heart imagines another time, another place, and another version of life where things might have unfolded differently.
