Description
RUTA
| acrylic on canvas, embroidery, ink pen | 40x80cm | April 2026
This work continues my “TINI RODU” series.
In Ukrainian tradition, ruta is connected with a woman’s inner boundary — self-respect and the ability to choose. It holds its space with calm confidence.
The swallow brings a different movement. It is light, passing, but always returns. It carries the idea of home without being tied to one place.
Together, they create a balance — between staying and moving, between holding your ground and still being open to the world.
The embroidery is stitched by hand, not painted. For me, it matters — it’s not just an image of tradition, it’s a physical act, something that requires time, repetition, presence.
This piece is about that balance.
About knowing who you are, and still allowing life to move through you.
