Description
In Ukrainian tradition, liubystok is associated with love — the kind that grows with time: attachment, care, a connection that stays. The nightingale also holds a strong place in Ukrainian culture as a voice — of love, of longing, of what lives inside and needs to be expressed. The embroidery in this work is taken directly from traditional Slobozhanshchyna patterns.
Together, these elements come into one feeling for me — home. But not as a place, but something that lives in the body. Something that pulls tight in the chest and doesn’t let go.
