Description
This is the first of the complementary works in the series TINI RODU.
In these paintings, the embroidery is not drawn — it is stitched by hand. As a separate layer of memory, it becomes part of the painting.
Teren (blackthorn) is a prickly, restrained plant. In folklore, it is associated with obstacles and experiences that transform. Its berries only soften - and become sweeter - after the cold, just like a person after what they have had to endure.
The blackbird here is not a folkloric symbol. It is more about presence. About someone who does not disappear, does not flee, but stays and looks straight ahead.
This work is about a strength that needs no explanation. About the ability to endure and not lose oneself.
