Description
Westfield 46 continues my exploration of the historic steam locomotives of the Central Railroad of New Jersey. This painting celebrates the beauty, craftsmanship, and power of an era when steam engines connected towns and carried both passengers and freight across the region.
Created through layered watercolor washes and careful attention to atmosphere, the painting reflects my ongoing interest in preserving railroad history through art.
Researching the CNJ has become an unexpected journey of discovery, allowing me to learn more about the railroad that my late father-in-law admired so deeply. Each painting in this series tells another chapter in that story, honoring both history and personal memory.
