Cloud Cover, 2009

Description

Cloud Cover is a very early "Pattern Painting" of mine, presenting a textured abstract field of soft gray and white (done with a small paint roller) layered with lively black markings and scattered multi colored cloud-like forms. Blue, yellow, pink, red, and green (stenciled) shapes create a playful rhythm across the composition, balancing the moody background with bursts of color. The sharp contrast between the rough and random black and white background and the regular solid color cloud shapes provides the contrast I wanted. This artwork would bring an expressive energy and visual movement to contemporary interiors.
