The Whale Buffet The captain explained it like it was Whale 101: the little fish aren’t dumb. When predators show up, they huddle together in a giant shimmering ball, like a floating disco of panic. The unlucky fish on the outside get picked off, while the ones in the middle pat themselves on the back, thinking they’re safe. Except… whales aren’t dumb either. Some genius whale must’ve had an “aha!” moment one day and decided: “Why nibble around the edges when you can just crash the party?” So now they dive underneath, open their jaws like a freight elevator, and blast straight through the middle of the fish ball. Instant all-you-can-eat buffet. And as if that weren’t humiliating enough, the seagulls swoop in like drunk wedding guests, snatching up leftovers and shrieking: “Thanks for the crumbs, sucker!” The result? A feeding frenzy that makes Shark Week look like a salad bar.
