The first guardian in my new series TINI RODU.
The whole series was inspired by Ukrainian guardian dolls - Motanki, but I want to represent them as women as core of creation. Berehynia is a woman, a keeper, protector of home, family, and lineage. Every detail in her form tells something :
White Scarf – the thread of family and faith, continuity that ties past and present.
Cross of Threads – red for life and bloodline, ivory for peace and endurance.
Coral Beads – a little fire close to the heart, a shield and talisman.
Embroidery – The Tree Of Life - from Podillia tradition, symbol of generations and the unbroken bond of family.
🌿 Sacred Plants Around Her:
• Kalyna (Viburnum) – motherhood, family, the heartbeat of Ukraine.
• Wormwood (Polyn) – a cleanser, a protector, keeping the home safe from evil.
• Oak Leaves & Acorns – strength of the family line, endurance, and ancestral roots.
Berehynia is tender and unshakable. She holds the home together, guards the threshold, and weaves strength into every generation.
This painting is my way of honoring her and letting her walk into today
