I’m proud to share “The North American Nebula,” my very first deep sky photograph. This emission nebula is located in the constellation Cygnus (the Swan) and is visible from the northern hemisphere. Its shape is strikingly similar to the North American continent, and the region is rich in hydrogen gas, which gives the nebula its vibrant colors.
Capturing this image was a true labor of patience and precision. I spent a total of 5.5 hours taking individual 5-minute exposures, then carefully stacked and processed them to reveal the fine details and natural colors of the nebula. The result is a high-resolution print that’s especially suited for large-format display, allowing every intricate feature to stand out.
