I had some fun with this one. It started like an abstract piece. I didn’t have any direction for it. Just started painting and went with the flow. Found a magazine page of surfboards which I cut out. Then painted faint strokes in the holes, essentially using it as a stencil. After that splashed a few lines of paint. While it was drying I came across a photo I took of the jetty in the morning light, and it became apparent that that was the final piece. So despite starting with no direction, this went together very smoothly.
