In this painting, I capture the young, vivacious black Arabian stallion that I grew up with. His name was Roy. He and I would race back-and-forth playing chase. I wanted to capture his energy in his disheveled forelock and erect posture. I used vibrant colors and free brushwork to express life, spirit, and beauty.
