I took this image on my very first workshop in the SouthWest. This is the interior of the barn at Hubbell Trading Post, which had only recently been open to the public after restoration work.
Hubbell’s, a National Historic Site, is the oldest continually operating trading post and I was sensing the presence of generations of Navaho as they traded their woven rugs and excelent silversmithing for new items the traders introduced.
To me it tells of the craftsmanship and history of the place. There are many different textures and forms here which the black and white film draw your attention to.
