Rooted Gaze envisions a sentient ecological being that stands as both witness and archive. Eyes embedded in the trunk gaze outward with quiet intelligence, suggesting that the land itself perceives, remembers, and carries ancestral presence. Three falling leaves hover in a moment of suspended descent, their luminous threads connecting sky to earth — a visual metaphor for lineage, transition, and the continuity between generations.
Beneath the surface, the roots pulse with a subtle violet energy, revealing an unseen world where memory and spirit intertwine. My composition dissolves the boundary between the human and the natural, proposing a cosmology in which trees are not passive forms but active participants in the emotional and ancestral life of the world.
This work forms part of my Ancestral Lineage series, a body of art that reimagines ecological forms as carriers of history, guardians of memory, and embodiments of mythic intelligence. It’s a thoughtful addition that will invite curiosity and reflection in any room.
