The painting features two halves of one face—the Wisdom of the Past and the Energy of the Future—yet they are united by a single moment in the Present. Neither is better nor worse; they are equally beautiful and have the right to exist. I wanted to show that these eras do not conflict but merge inextricably, creating a unified whole. I used my favorite collage technique and flow for the background, but introduced a strict element: mandarins (a symbol of good fortune) painted with a hint of the traditional Chinese Gongbi technique (a symbol of order and precision). This contrast between Order and Chaos is the map of the modern world.Every person is a collage of the past and the future. Do you see more order or flow in yourself?
