from Witches, The Devil and a King Collection. a developing collection that explores James VI, King of Scots influence on the Witch trails starting with his involvement in the North brewick withc trails and hi book demonology which influenced the withc trials in scotland this collection is in black and white with smoke effects to bring out the mystery and drama. some images like this one the smoke is manipulated into shapes relating to the story During the reign of James VI, King of Scots, suspicions of a coven of witches meeting at the Auld Kirk (old church) in North Berwick began to rise: with rumours of witches dancing in the graveyard and listening to the devil preach. The King’s paranoia introduced a new belief in Scotland that witches worked in covens communing directly with the devil.
