Best book series for inspiration?

Although I don't read much fantasy, I've been listening to a lot of Irish and Scottish highlands tales by Tricia O'Malley and Susanne O'Leary while I work lately and find myself wanting to paint the magical world of the faeries, merfolk, gnomes, kelpies, selkies, moors and loch's, castles and spirits of the highland coos! It calls to my long and wide heritage of Scotland & Ireland.
