As a U.S. Army Veteran, this piece holds special meaning for me.
I created “Brothers of Green” using photos from #AUSA magazine — a quiet tribute to the Army and the brotherhood that never fades.
I painted into parts of the collage but decided not to cover too much. The raw imagery already carried its own truth — and sometimes, art is about knowing when to stop.
This piece reminded me that memory itself has texture. You don’t always have to repaint it — sometimes, you just honor it.
I’ll be starting another piece soon — another collage, but this time it’ll build into a full military scene, merging realism and collage into one story of service, unity, and light.
