Meet América—a woman whose presence can’t be contained by boundaries. When I set out to paint her, I knew a simple likeness wouldn’t do justice to her energy. I wanted to capture that blend of elegance, resolve, and the beautiful imperfection that makes her authentic.
The light in this piece isn’t natural; it radiates from within, echoing América’s inner strength. The geometric background, reminiscent of a cage, symbolizes the boundaries she faces—but her spirit overflows past those limits, filling the space with color and confidence.
I built this portrait layer by layer: spray paint for atmosphere, acrylic for bold color, and oil for depth. The yellow corset became a focal point, a beacon of warmth and self-assurance. Every brushstroke is a celebration of individuality and resilience.
