Metallic acrylic on canvas, 24” x 12”
This piece is a painted interpretation of the song Caribbean Blue by Enya. Rather than illustrating the lyrics, I translated the music itself into color and structure. Each note is rendered as a chromatic field, arranged in proportion to its duration—creating a visual score built from layered bands of metallic acrylic.
Interwoven throughout the composition are neurographic lines—intuitive, flowing responses drawn in real time as I listened. These lines trace my emotional and somatic reaction to the music, softening the geometry of the note blocks and creating a dialogue between precision and instinct.
The metallic surface shifts with light, echoing the song’s luminous atmosphere and tidal sense of movement. The result is both structured and immersive: a visual meditation on sound, memory, and resonance.
