"Hebrides Cottage" presents an abstract landscape of our visit to Gearrannan Blackhouse Village on the Ilse of Lewis in the outer Hebrides of Scotland. The inspiration is from the image I took in 2002. The palette for the series reflects the colour tartans but also I was trying to capture the heavy skies.
I continue to use mixed media technique emphasizes depth with layered patterns and varied surfaces that invite closer inspection. This piece offers a distinctive addition to any collection seeking both character and warmth.
