Description
I'd never seen a Japanese Gentain, but it is commonly sold as a cut flower by Kyoto florists. With its richly coloured purple flower, dark green foliage and clear, defined shapes, I found it absolutely irresistible. The watercolour brush easily lends itself to the plants forms. The petal and leaf shapes and the brush easily become one. It's as if this flower was made to be painted. As my brush touched the paper, it was as if my hand was caressing the petals and leaves. It was a gentle experience that created a gentle painting. To buy a print of this work and others, visit https://www.asaifineart.com/
