Beschreibung
A Loggerhead Sea Turtle stretches for it's longest stroke 44 miles away from the nearest land mass at San Clemente Island.
Sea Turtles are not uncommon in our waters, but seeing one so far from the island and in beautiful blue open ocean is more rare than common. Very few images of these creatures in open ocean are found in magazines, or on the internet, making this piece a rare gem indeed. This particular turtle was one of my most photogenic subjects. It allowed me to get in position for several clicks before it dove to the depths and out of sight.
Setting up this shot involved locating the turtle (needle in an endless haystack), maneuvering my boat to get the sun at my back, all the while making sure to not create a wake that would spook the Loggerhead.
This mission was a success and now I offer this rare, beautiful image as a limited edition print on the finest, museum quality materials for your favorite space. Custom framing and signing available. Message me directly for your custom finish.
