Description
Happy Flowers; light in abundance was painted in the depths of winter, by the heat of the log burner. Working from a still life of bright blooms became pure escapism - a way of transporting myself to lighter, brighter spring days. The painting grew into a focal point of our family life: teenage children and their friends would pop in after school, shedding wet winter layers and discuss the painting's progress. While evenings ended with my husband and I sharing a glass of wine and reflecting together. This painting is as much about colour and renewal as it is about connection and warmth - a reminder that creativity can uplift and bring people together even in the cold darkest season (with the help of the fire too of course)!
