One late October morning in Yosemite Valley, we made our way to a special place on the river to photograph the light of sunrise streaming through the trees, turning the world golden. Half Dome loomed overhead in the distance. But here on the river, the golden leaves of autumn were dancing on the trees and shimmering in their reflection in the water. The morning air was cool.. A slight wind stirred the branches and sent ripples scattering across the river in places. The valley was quiet save for an occasional bird call. Even the wind breathed quietly. The beauty was in the golden dawn, in the shimmering leaves, in the towering peak, in the wind breathing quietly, in this place where we could breathe quietly too.
