Description
Drowning-in-the-Dark This powerful portrait emerged from a field of fire, shadow, and fractured light, creating a mood that feels both haunting and deeply compelling to me. I wanted the face to be suggested rather than fully resolved, so the viewer could sense vulnerability, intensity, and a quiet resilience beneath the surface. The luminous reds, golds, and ochres burn through the composition, while the heavy black lower section gives the work gravity and contrast. I used delicate, cracked linework to trace the face and form like memory marks, adding to the feeling of strain and transformation. For me, it is a striking, emotionally charged piece that invites reflection and lingers in the mind.
