Description
Ornette translates the spirit and sound of Ornette Coleman into colour, form and movement. Rather than depicting the musician or his instrument, the work seeks to evoke the feeling of his music—free, unexpected, playful and deeply expressive. Bold, sweeping gestures and vibrant colour fields intersect and respond to one another, creating a visual conversation. A central circular form radiates outward like a note with its harmonics, while lines, rhythms and contrasting colours move independently yet remain in dialogue. Like Coleman's music, apparent freedom is held together by an underlying sense of structure and exchange. Ornette is a celebration of curiosity, liberation and improvisation—a painting that attempts not simply to represent music, but to behave like music. 120 × 120 cm. Fine-art print mounted on 3 mm Alu-Dibond under Plexiglas. Limited edition of 3, signed and numbered, with Certificate of Authenticity and an original poem.
