Description
Our Lady of Perpetual Help is the work that gave birth to my Faith Series. It began on the day of my granddaughter’s First Communion, when I unexpectedly became the photographer for the ceremony and spent time observing the church’s sacred artwork and architecture. Later, I blended my infrared photograph of the church with an image of Mary from the same space, and the two aligned so naturally that the result felt less like coincidence and more like discovery. That moment changed the direction of my work, showing me that architecture could become a vessel for memory, belief, and sacred symbolism; I consider this the mother image of the series, the work from which all the others have grown.
