Description
House of Prayer, the fifth work in my Faith Series, began inside St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas, one of the historic Painted Churches of the early twentieth century. I was drawn to the sanctuary’s curved architecture, which felt protective and sheltering, and to the words “My House Is A House of Prayer,” a reminder that sacred spaces are sustained by generations of families and communities who gather within them. I blended the church with an antique image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, allowing Mary’s presence to become a symbol of devotion, protection, and enduring care. Together, the images reflect my belief that faith is inherited, restored, and renewed through the people and places that continue to welcome us home.
