Seeking A Divine Encounter, the fourth work in my Faith Series, reflects on pilgrimage, unexpected sacred encounters, and the grace found along the journey. While exploring near Ruidoso, New Mexico, my husband and I unexpectedly discovered the Mescalero Apache Catholic Church, where we also helped guide a trapped hummingbird toward an open door—a quiet moment that felt purposeful. The Marian image came from another unexpected discovery: a centuries-old devotional ledger in a small bookstore near Wimberley, Texas, whose fragile illustrations I was graciously allowed to photograph. By blending these two encounters, the work becomes a reflection on the journeys we choose, the sacred moments we do not plan, and the ways faith can meet us when we are willing to keep searching.
