I painted this after learning that extreme stress can literally reshape the heart — a condition called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. The composition presents a bulbous, octopus-like heart in magentas and deep purples, its chambers curling into tentacles that suggest constriction and change. Geometric planes of teal, gold and soft blue punctuate the scene, creating tension between organic form and structure. The piece conveys my renewed belief in the mind’s influence on the body, using bold color and layered paint to express vulnerability and force. It makes a striking, thought-provoking focal point for your space.
