Takasago Lily Pods

The takasago-yuri, known in English as the Formosa lily, grows wild in Japan. It stands out because it is so tall and it's flowers are large and white. When the flowers fall and the pods remain, they stand rigid and straight, unlike many other pods that bend on slender stems. Like many pods, I find them an irresistible subject - graphically dynamic, structurally interesting, and in their monochrome colouring, open to interpretation. This clean, elegant, minimal composition rewards a sensitive eye. It would provide an unobtrusive yet engaging point of interest in a variety of settings.
