This work explores the moment when stored emotional energy is triggered through the body before it is processed by the mind - especially when hearing a favorite song from the past! Drawing from the concept of somatic memory, the composition moves between containment and release—where what is held internally begins to surface as rhythm, repetition, and motion.
The jar form suggests preservation, memory, and accumulation, while the central figure becomes the site of translation—where sensation transforms into movement. Color and mark-making function as pulses, echoing the way the body recalls experience through feeling rather than narrative.
The result is a visual language of release—where memory is not revisited, but re-experienced.
