The 1920s This decade marked the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, introducing geometric design elements into patterns. A perfect example is a pulled-thread cotton tablecloth with intricate geometric and leaf shapes. The tea service from this period, designed by Standard China, England, showcases both geometric and floral design elements. Many of the props I use come from my collection and reflect my English heritage. The biscuits I chose for the 1920s are Jaffa cakes and Anzac biscuits. Jaffa cakes are still around and a family favourite which evoke fond memories of my early adulthood in England.
