Descripción
This painting was inspired by my very first trip to Maui.
We rented a little holiday home tucked inside a lush tropical garden—bold greens, vivid flowering shrubs, and that constant sense of warm ocean air. From the garden you could look straight out to the sea: a sparkling, deep-blue horizon that felt almost unreal.
Back in my studio, I painted the memory into this scene—and I chose a large scale on purpose. At this size, it doesn’t feel like a picture so much as a window: the kind you can step into with your eyes for a moment and be right there again, surrounded by color, light, and salt air.
