This amulet is over 200 years old and depicts the Boddhisattva Chenrezig. The ushishna (cranial bump) ad serene facial expression plus the surrounding swirling cloud and flower motifs are typical for artifacts created in the Kathmandu Valley. The modern black fresh water pearls contemporize the piece, while the faceted ruby creates a focal point for the beautiful and grounding devotional plaque.
