Layering, contrast, and vivid colour make up Shiny Happy People, which was painted in a celebration of abstract expression, to pendulum from past figurative perfectionism, both literally and mentally. Much in art as in life, painting for enjoyment, texture, and multi-layered connections often wins over perfected linearity. Freeform human figures are featured abstractly to express our fluctuating emotions, perceived depending on the mood, and eye of the beholder.
The figures outlined in black move dynamically across the canvas, embodying the tension between impulse and reflection. The layered textures reveal a process of chaos folded into clarity, inviting contemplation of the masks we wear and the energy beneath.
