The three-member jury for the "Aleksandar Šaletić" award, consisting of Borjana Šuvaković, Dušan Nenadović and Mila Vučićević, the president of the jury, unanimously decided to award the "Aleksandar Šaletić" award to ALEXANDER M. LUKIC, the author of the fused glass element "Calm" (painting and graphics section). By unanimous decision, the jury awards the award to the author of the work "Calm", Aleksandar Lukić, who confirms to us, a very important thesis for art, that there are no large and small projects. His unique and magnificent work, as the final artistic product of the study of materials and function, surpasses the quality of the very space in which it was applied. Creating a new product is in itself a departure from the plane of conventional design within the framework of the known. The artwork of this author dominates the space with the extraordinary power of a new, authentic, created element. Precisely the one that is slowly becoming a rarity, pushed aside and occupied by omnipotent technology and a huge offer of finished products. This gesture of creating a new model is precisely in line with great design endeavors like Šaletić's, and thus worthy of its award, calm in approach and worthy of creating a new vocabulary with which the author describes space. Finally, the value of this author's work is immeasurable by profession or purpose, it is the autonomous value of the project as such and speaks the language of art in a multipolar way of an autochthonous idea. Of a reduced and irresistible character.
