On an early fall drive up the PCH, parked at this delicious view of the mighty Pacific on a cool mild day. I painted this wonderous seascape, just trying to find the many blues of the ocean in the sunlight, and the shadows on the rocks protruding here and there against the waves, finding the remote ribbon of the horizon sky just so, even appreciating this bottom frame of purple asphalt in front of the view. Not a classic composition necessarily, but the lines are pleasing. The repeat horizontals give this small painting an abstract character, and I will never argue with the colors of the sea, any sea. May it bring a smile and some peace to your face.
