The idea for this one came when I walked into my painting room and a small rubber ducky had fallen off of my knickknacks shelf and was sitting on the floor. I picked it up to put it back on the shelf and the idea hit me - a giant rubber ducky, out on a lake. I sketched it out, knowing I wanted some size relationship going on so I put two kayakers in front and a sailboat off in the distance. It was totally absurd. Downright silly. So I knew I had to paint it! In this surreal acrylic painting, I captured the whimsy and unexpected joy hidden in everyday moments - especially when you're out on the lake. The absurdity of the giant ducky invites viewers to embrace imagination and playfulness amidst reality. Bringing this to your space will spark wonder and lighthearted energy and after all, almost anything can happen with lake life!
